Purple Rain

Hello!

It's Friday!!! and of course.. It's raining!!!! putting a smiley face to the wet and cold weather!

I'm looking forward to this weekend... we will get our coats, boots and hats to enjoy the Halloween events in our area... There is a Ghost train! (I would love to go, but not sure If it's the best for a 4 and a half year old...) we'll see. It's supposed to be for families after all!

So, I've got the perfect card for you today... with umbrella and everything! It's an easel card, loving this type of card at the moment. I'm pretty sure I'll show you a lot more of this in the future!

The digi stamp I used is from Polka Doodles. It's so nice and it can be used for so many different cards, Birthdays, Friendship... 

The backing papers I've used are from Pink Petticoat Colour Collections and Papermania Capsule Collection Designer Die-Cuts (the black polka-dots). I've distressed all the black card stock and the papers with sandstone and inks. 

I made the sentiment with my computer (the quote is not mine).  I'm starting to play around with the idea of creating my own sentiments.... I would love to make some cool ones to share with you all!

And now let's talk about the colouring! I used my promarkers (as always!). 

For the face and skin: sandstone and vanilla.

For the hair: Blossom and Pink Carnation (yes, Pink hair!)

For the dress: lilac, lavender, orchid and Slate. 

For the boots: slate, lilac and blender pen

I decoupaged the umbrella with the lovely papers I used in the backgroud.

I also used Sizzlits Decorative Strip, Marianne Creatables and Nellie's dies as background and to embellish the card. 

The roses and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and leaves are die cut from a Marianne Creatables Die set.

The buttons, ribbon (and bow) and pearls are from a local shop.
