I hope you are all well!
I've just been blogging for only 2 weeks but I love it. I love the challenges (they are great to get me into making cards I wouldn't dare to make). I also love the process of writing the blog, not knowing what is going to come up from it and thinking that people from anywhere in the world may read it! (scary!).
But above all, I love the blogging community. The way I can "talk" to people with the same interest as me, from any part of the world, I feel "connected". It's a good feeling. I'm starting to ramble now....
On to the card!
Today's card is a Birthday Autumn / Fall card with a twist! I haven't used the usual deep brown and orange colours but yellow, pink and just a bit of brown. I always like to mix pink and yellow colours, especially for girl cards... I feel like it's a good colour combination (I might be wrong, your opinion would be appreciated!).
It's again an easel card. I love this type of cards!
The lovely image I've used is "Singin in the Rain" by Mo Manning (Mo's Digital Pencil). If I could, I would buy all her digital stamps! I'm in the process of doing so...
The backing papers I've used this time are from We R Memory Keepers Baby Mine (yellow with pink / white spots); Papermania Capsule Collection Spots and Stripes Pastels (pink stripes paper); the sentiment is printed in a K&Company paper.
I have distressed the edges of the papers with a blade and sandstone and added ink... I love to distress papers.. I like the "messy look"!

I've also used an old corrugated cardboard (it was part of the packaging from a toiletry set I got for my baby shower about 5 years ago!), and I've painted it a bit of silver/pearl acrylic paint from Docrafts.
The little tag picking out behind the cardboard is a memory tag from the Happy Days journaling cards collection by Papermania (I have scanned it and reduced its size).
As usual, I've coloured the lovely image with my Promarkers.
This is the first time I've coloured curly hair!!!! I hope I've done an OK job! I used buttermilk, mustard and sandstone.
For the face and body I've used: Sandstone, Vanilla and Blossom.
For the Boots: Tulip Yellow, Mustard and the Blender pen.
For the umbrella: Blossom, Pink Mittens, Buttermilk, Eggnog and the blender pen.
I have paper-pieced the dress and coat. I love paper-piecing lately!
I have used a brown ink pad to colour the background of the picture.
My tip for Top Tip Tuesday is: if you don't have a proper ink blender like me, you can buy cheap make-up sponges and use them to blend your ink!
I printed the leaves, cut them and inked them to give them the brown colour.
I used Anitas 3-D Clear Gloss Finish for the rain drops.
I used Tim Holtz Alterations On the Edge die to make the pink stripe's background paper look like a notebook page. The fence die cut is from my new Marianne Creatables die.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The yellow spotty brad in the flower is from Doddlebug Design Ink Boutiques brads.
The spotty ribbon, buttons and charm as from my own stash.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges (in no particular order):
A Gem of a Challenge #103 - More than one fold (Easel card)
613 Avenue #43 - Anything goes with optional twist: Paper Piecing (dress is paper-pieced)
Cutie Pie challenge #56 - Cute with embellishment bingo (die cuts, buttons, ribbon, charm, flowers)
Top Tip Tuesday #113 - Seasons
Oldie but a Goodie - Charming (charm and corrugated cardboard are old)
If you like this card, please let me know by leaving a comment. You can follow my blog using Bloglovin', Google + and I've added Google Friends Connect! all the buttons are on the side bar.
Now I'm going to get Alaia in her fancy-dress, as she has a School Disco this evening! (I wanted her to dress as a witch or something scary, but she just want to be a princess!)
