beautiful colours!!!

Our sponsor this week is Aurora Wings

you should really take a look at their Etsy shop... it's full of fantasy and magical beauties!!!

They very kindly donated an image for me to work with, I chose Water Lily Fairy - Lotus.

and I can tell you... I used ALL  the colours in my card!!! it's one of the busiest and most colourful cards I've ever made!!! I  had a lot of fun making it...

The Papers I've used are all from the Recollections Signature Fabulous Girl paper pad... I'm loving this paper pads I get from TK Maxx here in the UK... they all come from America... This one for example is from the famous Michaels!!! I've never been in America... but if I ever go... Michaels will be one of my stops!!! lol.

I used my Tim Holtz Distress Tool to distress the borders of all the papers.
I also hand-stitched the borders of the bottom layers with white thread.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I bought some Flexmarkers the other day and I can tell you I'm hooked!!! I love the brush style tip!!!

The colours I used are:

Flexmarkers: Watermelon, Tea Rose, Wild Orchid, Pink Pearl, Celestial Blue and Cadet Blue.

Crafty Boots - Sparkle (I used gems)

I really hope you like my card! if you do, don't forget to leave me some love in the comments...

and don't forget to follow!! :)

Sentimental Sundays DT post #201 - Vintage / Steampunk

Hi!!! how is the weekend treating you? It's a quiet weekend for us.. yesterday we stayed home, lazing around, we even had a nap! a family nap! My husband had been away almost all the week, so he was extremely tired... Today we've been doing some stuff around... but nothing really exciting... It's good sometimes to be just home and relax I guess.

As every Sunday, we have a new challenge at

The theme this week is

Vintage / Steampunk
(plus a sentiment)

I was really excited with this week's theme... as I've never made a steampunk card... so I was really looking forward to it!

The sponsor this week is Lollyrot Illustration Stamps

So, after you read about my card, hop over to Sentimental Sundays and join us in the fun! Even if you have never tried this genre, it's really exciting to try new themes and techniques!!! the DT and GDTs have made a fantastic job to give you  inspiration for this challenge!

and this is my card...

The paper's I've used are both freebies from magazines. The brown one is full of cogs and script writing...  I love it and thought it would go perfect with this card.

I used black card stock as a base.

All the papers have been distressed with Tim Holtz Distresser Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad in Old paper.

The image is from the sponsor, which they very kindly donated for me to work with. It's called "Agatha" and it can be found here.

I used my Promakers to colour the image. I used:  Turquoise, Duck Egg, Powder Blue, Vanilla, Almond, Blossom, Pink Mittens, Buttercup, Tan, and Blender Pen.

I stamped two of the image corners with Urban Stamps Cogs stamp.

I also used this same stamp for the corner of the card, but this time I used it with Versamark embossing ink and Papermania Embossing powder in Silver.

As an extra layer, I use the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die cut, which I also embossed with Papermania embossing powder  in Silver. I did this a bit on the rough... meaning I didn't want it to come perfect and shiny and wanted to show a bit of the black card stock from the bottom.

I finished it off with:

Lace from local shop.
The Metal Cogs and Vintage Scissors charm are from The Bead shop, in the Afflecks Palace in Manchester.
I also took a washer from my tool box and added it together with the cogs.
The screw brad is from Woodware.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The two types of washi tape are from local shop.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I hope you like my steampunk card!
Please leave me some love, I really enjoy reading your comments...
and don't forget to follow!

Until next time!

Sentimental Sundays DT post: challenge #197 - Card for a Boy/Man

Hiya!!! I hope you are having a great weekend! our weekend has been great! our friends from Aberdeen came to spend the weekend with us... we had a great time, looking forward to see them again soon!!!

Today, a new Sentimental Sundays challenge is starting!!!

The theme this week is

Cards for a Boy/Man
(plus a sentiment)

Our sponsor this week is QKR Stampede

So, hop over to Sentimental Sundays challenge #197  , take a look at the great cards my fellow DT's have made for your inspiration, and join us!

This is my boy/man card!  I really struggle with male cards... I find them so difficult to make, as I love my embellishments, and obviously I can't put as many on a male card!

For this card, I used a really fun digi stamp from QKR Stampede, which they kindly donated for me to work with, called "Upset Golfer".

The papers I've used are from:  American Crafts Amy Tangerine Yes, Please and from American Crafts May Berry.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers:

I used: Vanilla and Almond for his skin;
Pink Carnation, Blossom and Pink Mittens for his shirt and
Cool Grey  5 to 1 for the shoes and the golf irons.

I paper-pieced his hat and trousers with a bit of scrap paper from K&Company. I use some green watercolour pencil to make a bit of shading on the paper-piecing.

I created the sentiment on my computer.

Then I just embellished with a few brads, a bit of twine, an spiral paper clip and three kinds of washi tape from the Papermania Capsule Collection Spots & Stripes bright.

Wags and Whiskers #124 - Sports

I really hope you like my inspiration card for  Sentimental Sundays challenge #197 this week!!!

Please leave me some love in the comments if you do, and don't forget to follow! :)

Until next time!

Sentimental Sundays DT post! challenge #196: Sketch

Hello again!

I'm back with my second post of the day because it's time for

The theme this week is Sketch
(plus a sentiment)

We are sponsored by Rick St. Dennis Digital Stamps.

So, get on crafting, use this sketch to create a beautiful project and join us in the fun!
We'd like to see how you interpret the sketch. so many ways! just take a look at the Sentimental Sundays challenge, where my fellow DTs have also used it to make some fantastic cards!

Rick St. Dennis Stamps kindly donated an image for me to work with. I chose "Flapper". she's so much fun! I love everything retro-looking, and this 1920's flapper is amazing!

I really wanted the image to stand out, in her red dress, so I decided to used neutral colours for my paper. The background paper is from Crate Paper "The Pier" paper pad, which I place on top of Kraft card.

I hand-stitched  around the paper with brown thread. I'm loving the stitching in my cards at the moment. it takes me ages, but love it... and I find it quite relaxing when I stitch....

As a second layer I used Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die cut from Kraft card.

I sprinkled the edges of the card and the Clock with embossing powder in White foam, using Versamark Embossing ink. I love the texture this embossing has given to the card.
In the clock, I also used a few Mica Fragments from Stampendous.

The image has been fussy-cut and placed on top of a postcard stamped image from Urban Stamps.
On the corners of this image, I stamped some leaves with brown ink. this stamp is a freebie from a craft magazine.

I used the Tim Holtz Distress tool in all the papers and Kraft card together with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.

As usual, I coloured the image with my Promarkers.

I used: Poppy, Cool grey 4 and 3, vanilla, almond, blossom, eggnog, buttercup, cornflower and poweder blue.
Black and cool grey 5 to 2 for the hair.

TIP FOR TOP TIP TUESDAY:  I only have one shade of red marker at the moment, so, to give a bit of shading when using red, I used a few shades of grey and then I go over with the red again. the shading is really subtle but it works, at least until I can save some money to buy more shades of red!

I put some twine behind the postcard stamp and image.
red rhinestones for some sparkle bling, two kinds of washi tape (both from local shop)

I also used: Tim Holtz Alterations Elegant Flourish die and Tim Holtz Adage "Giggle" ticket as a sentiment. I though this sentiment matches the image really well.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges (in alphabetical order):

As you like it - Favourite 3D texture and why (my favourite 3D texture is flowers. I put flowers in almost all my cards, love them! for me they complete the look of the card. I've also started to make my own flowers -as you can see on this card-)
Aud Sentiments #101 -  use a sentiment for a girl  2nd entry
C.R.A.F.T. challenge - Inspired by a film (card inspired by The Great Gatsby)
Crafts 4 Eternity #165- Texture (I used wet embossing around the card for extra texture)
Loves Rubberstamps #92 - Washi tape or faux washi tape (I used two types of real washi tape)  2nd entry
Milk Coffee - Emboss it challenge (wet or dry) (I used wet embossing around the card)
Top Tip Tuesday - Stitching  (TIP given, see above) 3rd entry

I really hope you have like this card!

That's all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by!
Until next time!
