Guest Designer for Little Miss Muffet !

Morning!!!

I hope you are all ok... In here we are already on the Easter Break... Alaia is off school, so I have barely any time for myself!!!
I was supposed to be in Glasgow today... as my husband has a meeting and Alaia and I were going to tag along... But Alaia hasn't been feeling very well for the last few days, and I have also been feeling a bit poorly, so we decided to stay home... Alaia was really upset, as she loves travelling! so I promised her to go to town today in the bus and spend some girlie time together... She is really excited (more than anything due to the bus ride!!! bless her...)

On to today's card.....  Faye from Little Miss Muffet challenge asked me to Guest Design for them this week, and of course I accepted straight away! Thank you so much for having me!!!

The theme this time at Little Miss Muffet is DISTRESSED.
wow! as most of you may know.. it's one of my favourite things to do! leave me with a paper and my Tim Holtz Distressing Tool and inks and I'm the happiest girl in the world!!!

so hop over to Little Miss Muffet challenge, and join in the fun!

And this is my GDT card!

This little cutie is Babe Superstar, from  Little Miss Muffet stamps.

The papers I've used are from Crate Paper Little Boy Blue (the grey paper with little baby objects). the other paper I've had for a while.. sorry I don' know the brand as it came in a small pack, non-branded, but it's also really cute, with small baby footprints all over....

All the card-stock and papers have been distressed with the Tim Holtz Distresser tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Old paper and Antique Linen.
I also hand-stitched the border of all the layers with white thread.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers.
I used:
Buttercup, Mustard, Cornflower, Powder blue, Vanilla, Almond, Blossom, Tulip Yellow, Leaf Green and Cool Grey 1.

I added the "New Baby" sentiment to the star.
I also created the "Congratulations" sentiment on my computer.

As an extra layer, I used a blue doily.
I also used:
"It's a Boy" ribbon from local shop.
Flower from Wild Orchid Crafts
Leaves die cuts using a Marianne Creatables die.
Button, gems and washi tape from local shops.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

For my card I used a Paper Nest Dolls image called "Love Strung", which they very kindly donated for me to work with. I decided to make it a Mother's Day card, but it can easily be used for Valentines, Anniversary, Love...

On this card I decided to shape the front cover, so it's got a beautiful frame cut at the bottom... I did it with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations On the Edge die.

The papers I've used are from:  Pebbles Front Porch paper pad, First Edition Rose garden paper pad, Kaiser Kraft Christmas collection paper pad (freebie from a magazine) and the music sheet paper also freebie from a magazine.

All the edges have been distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Old Paper. I also used Papermania embossing powder in foam white, sprinkle around the edges and heated with a heat gun.

As extra layers I used: a paper doily and a piece of cheese cloth, the latest from The Ribbon Girl.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers.

I used: Poppy, Cool Grey 3 and 2, Tan, Almond, Satin, Vanilla, Blossom, Buttercup and Sandstone.

I used some glitter glue on top of the hearts, I'm getting addicted to this stuff!!!!

The "Love you" sentiment is also part of a paper pad from Pebbles Front Porch.
The MUM letters are from Docrafts Papermania Madame Payraud's mini alphabet stickers.

I also used to embellish the card:
Flowers and pearl brads from Wild Orchid Crafs.
Marianne Cretables leaves die.
Lace, ribbon and buttons from local shops
Pearls from Hobbycraft.

For my card I used this beautiful digital stamp from All Dressed Up called "Abi Ballerina". It's one of the freebies that All Dressed Up very generously offers on its website! I thought It would be perfect to bling up!

I decided to made a shaped card this time. I used my Go Kreate die to cut the shape.

the papers I've used are from:  American Crafts May Berry paper pad (the stripes paper) and First Edition Rose Garden papern pad (the horizontal layer with newspaper style writing). the spotty paper was a freebie with a magazine, and the ones used for the tags are non-branded from local shop.

I distressed all the paper edges with Tim Holtz distress tool and Tim Holtz Distress ink pad in Tattered Rose.

As usual, I used my Promarkers to colour the image.

I used:
Buttercup, sandstone and burnt sienna for the hair.
vanilla and almond for the skin, plus blossom for the cheeks.
Pink Carnation, blossom and pink mittens for the dress and headband.

I used pink glitter glue on the dress for the sparkle effect!
I also used a bit (a lot!) of liquid peals around the image and hand-stitched the border with white thread.

The sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC. I saw it and I knew it would be perfect for the image and the theme! Thank you so much Paulette for the great freebies!

To embellish I used:

La La Land Crafts banner die
Joy Crafts tag dies
Tim Holtz Tattered florals die for the flower. I die-cut it in white card stock and inked to give colour and covered with Americana matte varnish to harden it and keep the shape.
Marianne Creatables leaves die
white binding ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts, which I coloured with my Promarkers to match the card .
Lace underneath the ribbon from local shop.

Try it on Tuesday GDT spot!!! a very musical card!

Morning!!! Happy Tuesday!

First of all, I want to welcome my new followers! thank you so much for clicking the "follow" button! it means so much to me! Hopefully I will be able to inspire you in some way or another!

Today's post is very special, because I'm the Guest Designer for Try It on Tuesday challenge this fortnight!!! I can't tell you how happy I am to have made a card as a GDT for this amazing challenge!  Thank you so much for having me!

When I was told about the theme this week, I just had to smile! It was perfect for a card I needed to make...(not telling you for who, a bit too early...!!! ). So the theme at Try it Tuesday challenge this week is....
MUSIC!!!
So start making your Music themed cards and join Try it on Tuesday challenge!

This is the card I made:

I used two clear stamps for this card.
The first one is the "Grunge Music" clear stamp from Lili of the Valley, which I stamped with black ink.
The second one is a beautiful floral clear stamp with lots of roses from Fleur boutique stamp collection (it was a freebie in a magazine). I coloured the roses with my Promarkers.

The colours I used are: lilac, lavender, blossom, pink mittens, buttercup, tulip yellow, Lime Zest, Leaf green.

And of course, I put a lot of layers!

The papers are from: Crate Paper DIY shop paper pad (the music sheet paper in the background) and a freebie from a magazine (the cream paper).

I distressed all the edges of the papers with the Tim Holtz Distresser tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad in Tea Dye and Tattered Rose. I bent the corners to give it a bit of a vintage/grunge look.

I also hand-stitched the bottom layer with white thread.

I used a pink doily and a piece of lace mesh as extra layers.

Under the roses image I put a beautiful frame die cut from Marianne Creatables.

The butterflies are punched with the Martha Stewart punch and wet embossed using the LOTV grunge music stamp, using pink embossing powder.

I used a small musical note punch to add some pink notes on top of the music sheet.

The flowers and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I created the sentiment on my computer.
The ribbon attached is from local shop.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I really hope you like my GDT card for Try it on tuesday. Don't forget to check out the challenge!

I really appreciate your comments, they make me so happy! and don't forget to follow!

Until next time!

Crafty Catz GDT post: Boys and their toys challenge!

Good Morning!!!! I hope you are all well, enjoying this bit of spring weather we are having over the last few days!!!

I can't believe my last post was last Sunday!!! I have been making a few cards here and there that I can't show yet, but decided to take it a bit easy, as lately I've been a bit stressed, and this is supposed to be a hobby at the end of the day!!!

Anyway.. It's Friday! which means it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz Challenge! As I announced last week, I'm their GDT for March, really excited! this is my second week.

This week's theme is   Boys and their toys hosted by Nick

The sponsor  this week is Digi Stamps 4 Joy

Digistamps4Joy SHOP

South African crafters are new to the digital stamping world, with the first South African online digital image store launched in 2010 – Digistamps4Joy (or DS4J)http://www.digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/. In May 2012, Margy Kieser took over ownership of DS4J, and there are now two South African artists who contribute to the more than 500 images available. Margy has taken the store to new heights and the store now stocks digis that are cute, whimsical, artistic, sometimes serious, and sometimes humorous. In addition, one of our own South African rubber stamp companies granted us permission for one range of rubber stamps to be converted into digistamp images. The store has PAYPAL, PAYFAST (South African) and EFT (South African) facilities. Digistamps4Joy offers a monthly freebie on the first Friday of every month, and holds regular bi-weekly card challenges that draw entries from many international card makers.
PRIZE  5 DIGI IMAGES OF WINNERS CHOICE

So, right after you read about my card, hop on to the Crafty Catz Challenge and join us this week! The DT has got great cards for your inspiration in there!

This is my card. Digi Stamps 4 Joy gave us a few images to play with, and I chose this one, called "Big Foot".

So here I am with another boy card!!!! still struggling! it takes me forever to plan the card, trying to find some (if any!) embellishments!
On this card, I just played with the layers, using only two Screw looking brads from Woodware Crafts  to embellish.

The papers I've used are from American Crafts Amy Tangerine Yes Please Paper Pad (the brown/cream paper; I chose it as it look like dirt and soil, which I though goes really good with the monster truck theme)  and from Front Porch Paper Pad by Pebbles (the green stripes paper)

I hand-stitched the bottom layer with light green thread. some of the edges are distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.

Under the sentiment, I put another layer that I created with green ink and a stamp from Papermania Urban Stamps.

I created the sentiment on my computer.

I used my Promarkers to colour the image.

I used: Frosted Leaf for the green truck,
tulip yellow, cool grey 5 to 2, and Sandstone.

I'd also like to enter this car into the following challenges:

I hope you like my card for my GDT spot at Crafty Catz!

If you do, please leave me some love in the comment. and don't forget to follow me if you aren't already... :)

Until very soon!!!

I'm the March GDT for Crafty Catz challenge!!!

Good Morning!!!!! It's Friday!!!!  I'm really excited as this weekend we have some friends coming to visit from Aberdeen, so really looking forward to have them here and catch up!

And even more excited because I'm the March Guest Designer for Crafty Catz challenge!!! I'm so happy!!! As it is a weekly challenge, I will be bringing you a new creation for Craty Catz every Friday for the next 4 weeks!!! Thank you so much Crafty Catz challenge team for having me! It's a privilege!

This weeks challenge is  Paper piecing and it is hosted by Jac
The Sponsor is BUGABOO

prize...7 images of winners choice

So, start making your project with paper-piecing on it, and join Crafty Catz challenge this week!!!

And this is the card I've made!

I used one of the sponsor's images that they kindly donated. It's called "Ava Flower Patch".

The papers I've used are from magazine freebies (polka dot paper). The stripes floral paper is from my stash, I've been for hours trying to find out which paper pad I got it from, and I can't find it! I really should take notes when I make my cards to avoid this... sorry... lesson learnt!

As an extra layer, I used a green fabric frame (similar shape to a Polaroid frame) from Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection. I think it's meant to be used for scrapbooking, but I saw it and I had to have it! they  are 12 different designs on the pack, some with sentiments included, like this one "Enjoy". I added the button from my stash.  I love the effect that it gives to the card, a bit different to a normal layer. I used a piece of blue scrap paper from K&company as a background to this frame.

I hand-stitched the bottom layer and horizontal layer with white thread.

To follow this week's challenge theme. I paper-pieced the image's dress and hair bow with a piece of yellow and faded blue polka dots paper.

The rest of the image is coloured with my Promarkers.

I used: Raw Sienna, Sandstone, Buttercup, Vanilla, Almond, blossom, Powder Blue, Cornflower, tulip yellow, leaf green, moss and blender pen.

I inked the edges of the image with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen.
I also placed some gem rhinestones in the flowers and in the punched butterfly.

The "With Love" ribbon is from Hobbycraft.
The flowers and lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts
The rhinestones gems are from local shop.

I would also like to enter the following challenges with this card (in alphabetical order)
