distressing to de-stress myself!

Hi! Happy Tuesday!

First of all, I would like to welcome all my new followers! Thank you! I really hope you enjoy my blog and my creations! Welcome to the crazy wagon!!!!

Well... and I thought that after last weekend I was going to take a few days off! no... not possible! Here I was, last night, after the little one went to bed and the hubby away on business, thinking to myself : "today just relax, watch some TV, catch up on Celebrity Big Brother (I'm hooked!!)... I couldn't! So, I put Big Brother on, sat down on my desk and made this card!

I started the card following a sketch provided by a challenge.... but  when I started putting things together I wasn't really convinced that I wanted to use that sketch... so I decided to go "free style"!

The image I've used is a new digi from Wee Stamps called "Silver Fairy".

I went for one of my favourite colour combinations, blue with a bit of brown and cream.
The papers I've used are mainly freebies from card-making magazines and from my K&Company paper pad.
I distressed all the edges with the Tim Holtz paper distresser and added blue ink and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.

I also hand-stitched around the papers with brown thread.

The Promarkers I used to colour the fairy are:

For the hair: Cocoa, Raw Sienna, Sandstone, Buttermilk and Satin.
For her skin: Vanilla, Almond and Blossom.
For hand and leg warmers/cuffs: cornflower, powder blue and lavender.
For wings: Cornflower, Powder Blue and Blender pen.

The dress is paper-pieced with a scrap of paper.

I painted the filigree metal corner and heart buckle with blue acrylic paint and once dry, I used sand-paper to remove some of the paint. I wanted some of the metallic colour to show to give it more of a Shabby Chic look.

Dies used: Tim Holtz Weathered clock
The ticket stamp in the main image is also from Tim Holtz.

The flowers, pearls and filigree metal corners are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I used some string to make a bow; and buttons and Liquid Pearls in Pearly white and Blue to decorate. From local shops.
.
I created the Happy Birthday sentiment on my computer.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss #219 - Lace or Pearls (I used pearls) 3rd entry)
Sweet Stampin - Your favourite style (my favourite style is distressed/shabby chic)

Thank you so much for taking a look! I would love if you leave me a comment, I haven't got time to reply to all of them, BUT I read them all! I will also answer any questions...
and don't forget to follow! :)

Until next time!

Little hands and little feet, a baby girl card!

Hello and welcome back!

One week since my last post, It seems ages!!!! Dublin was amazing, it's such a beautiful city! full of life and culture at every corner.... It was a nice break!!! but I'm already back to reality... and so busy! making cards, family time, house duties... and I haven't started with my Christmas shopping!!! I know of some people who have already finished all their Christmas preparations, presents wrapped and everything! I will hopefully get on with it this week...

I 've got a beautiful card for you today... I was asked to make this card, and I couldn't wait to use my new frame die-cut from Go Kreate.  It makes such a nice card shape. It's a bit smaller than the 6x6 cards I'm used to make, but it's still a very good size.

I also got this new digi stamp by Wee Stamps for this card... I've got a few baby stamps, but as I'm making quite a lot of baby cards, I wanted a new one, and this one is so cute. It's called "Wee One".

The papers I've used are from the Princess Fairytale collection by Dovecraft (the pink with white stars paper) and the rest of papers are from the Little Bo Peep paper pad by Crate Paper.

I coloured the little cutie with my Promarkers.

I tried a new style to colour the wee one's hair, I used my new thin tips for the Promarkers. They are great!
For hair I used: Shale, Raw Sienna, and Sandstone,
For the face: Vanilla, almond, Satin and Blossom.
I used Lavender for the little bird.
For the pram: Warm grey 1, blossom, pink carnation and pink mittens. Antique pink for the little dots.

I used some glitter for the ruffles in the pram, to give it a bit of sparkle!

Behind the papers I die cut a Doily from my Sizzix Doily die-cut, and embossed it with the dots embossing folder. I used the inverted side of the embossing, for a change!

The flowers, the pink pearl brad, the pearls and the lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used some glitter glue to make them shine!

The buttons and bow are from local shops and I've had them forever in my stash!!!!

I've decorated the inside with the same paper and die cut from Sizzix (scallop circle)for the greeting.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Oldie but a Goodie - Ribbon and/or Lace
613 Avenue Create #47 - Anything goes with twist create your own challenge
Love to Create #93 - 3 of your favourite embellishments (lace, pearls and flowers)

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas....

Hello and welcome to my blog!

42 days left until Christmas! Where has the year gone????

So I've got for you.... another Christmas card!!!! This time is girlie, in purples and pinks.

I used a digital Wee Stamp that I got a few weeks ago, she looks so warm and cosy with her scarf and ear warmers! The sentiment is my own, I'm starting to make my own sentiments and playing around with different fonts. The sentiment is based on one of my favourite Christmas songs, "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" sang by Judy Garland and a lot of people since then.

The papers I've used this time are from the "Somebunny to Love" paper pad (snowy purple); the Love Letters by First Edition (stripes paper) and from scrap.

I used a few of my tools to embellish  the card: the Marianne Creatables frame die cut behind the image; the Joy crafts Snowflake die cut and I used the Sizzix framelits scallop circle for the image.

I used my Promarkes to colour the sweet image:

For the hair: Sandstone, Buttermilk and blender pen.
For the face: Sandstone, Vanilla and Blossom
For the clothes: Amethyst, Lilac, Orchid, Maroon, Pink Carnation, Blossom, Apple and Leaf Green.
For the holly: Moss, Pear Green, Antique Pink and Poppy.

And it wouldn't be a Christmas card without glitter! I used glitter glue for the snow, the fairy wings, the ear warmers and I put a bit on the big purple rose.

The flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, the purple glitter ribbon is by Dovecraft Tea Party collection, the rhinestones, brads and lace are from local shops.

A Wee Fairy card and my chaotic last few days!!!

Hello!

I hope you all had a great weekend!!!!

We went away for the weekend, to visit our family in Manchester. We had a great time, but Alaia got a bit of temperature the last two days, so she couldn't enjoy so much... Thanks to my sister-in-law, she offered to take care of her for a bit and we were able to meet some friends for lunch... After half an hour waiting for them in the restaurant, we found out we were sitting at  different restaurants, and they had also been waiting for us!!!! so we had to cross the whole city centre to meet! my fault, as it seems I can't read text messages properly....

We came back home late last night, and straight away I started to make a card! I've been so busy that I had to make this card very last minute, I worked until 2 am to have it ready today... to find out, when I gave the card and a little present with it, that my friend's birthday is not until next month!!!!!!!!!!  I think I'm losing my mind!!!!

So moving on to the card... I really hope she likes it, even when she received it one month in advance!

The card is mainly blue and black. I  used a rubber stamp by Wee Stamps.
The background paper is from the Black & Gold Paper Pack by Forever Friends.

I followed a sketch by Come and Get It challenges. I  flipped the design horizontally as I though it works better for the stamp I used.

I coloured the little fairy with my Promarkers.  I really love how her hair turned out! I'm not very confident colouring hair yet, but I'm really happy with the outcome on this one.
For the hair I used: Azure, Powder Blue, Slate and blender pen.
For her face and skin: Sandstone, Vanilla, Blossom.
For the wings: Cornflower and Powder blue.

I paper-pieced the dress with a bit of scrap paper I had left.

I used pearls to embellish the wings and the corners of the embossed card stock.

I embossed the blue card stock to give the card some texture with the "In Bloom" embossing folder by Craft Concepts.
The small corners are die-cuts from a Sizzlits die.

The Ribbon, pearls, lace and buttons are from a local shop.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Come and get it - Time for a Sketch
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge #101 - Black and Blue
Creative Corner Challenges - Can't Touch this (Texture)
Crafty Catz #205 - Paper Piecing
