It's twins!!!

Hi! I hope you are having a great week!

My cousin in Spain had twins a few weeks ago, so there was no doubt that I was going to try and make a new baby x 2 card!!! my first card for twins...so excited!

For this card, I looked around for Twin digis or stamps, but there wasn't any that I really liked, so I decided (with the help of Google!) to flip and merge this digi, Spit Happens, from Mo Manning, which I've had for a long time. I'm really happy how it turned out. I also added the babies' initials to their T-shirts!

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

Card Recipe

White cardstock
Blue cardstock
Spit Happens digi by Mo Manning  (merged)

A One layer card!!!

Hi!
I hope you've all had a great weekend, with a bit of time  (or a lot!) for crafting!

I was able to squeeze a bit of time (that's it, working until really late at night once the girls are in bed!). My toddler seems to be so full of energy, she doesn't want to sleep early... I haven't got any other option than to craft during the night.. which I don't really mind on the weekend, and I get some peace and quiet!)

Today I bring you another New baby card, which I've made for my friend and neighbour, who had a baby boy last week. It's CAS (I think it's the most CAS card I've ever made!), just one layer and no designer paper! that was a challenge!

So, after a lot of stamping, inking, masking and colouring this is what I ended up with! A few years ago I wouldn't have dreamt to make a CAS card... but lately I'm really giving them a try (although I still like to indulge in layers and lots of embellishment in some of my cards).

For this card I used a clear stamp set that I've had for a long time and it's been sitting in a drawer since.... (together with a lot of more stamps waiting to be inked...). It's the "New Arrival" Forever Friends clear stamp set, I don't remember where I got it from.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

Card Recipe

 6x6 card blank
"New Arrival" Forever Friends clear stamp set (baby bear and cross stitching stamps)
Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour the stamp
Papermania light and dark blue pigment ink
Sizzix Tim Holtz On the Edge torn notebook die (used to mask the edges of the inked patch)
The Crafter's shop mini template - writing stencil
Postal mark clear stamp from The Works
multi date stamp (from local shop in Spain) - I used it to add the baby's date of birth
"Cute as a button" stamp from Hobbycraft
blue heart button
sequins in different colours

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I hope you like my try on a one layer CAS card! If you do, don't forget to leave me some love in the comments and follow me if you are not doing so... Thanks!

Until next time!!!

Layers and more layers!!!!

Hi! I hope you are having a great weekend and a great Valentine's day!!!

I've got a new card for you today. It's a new baby card for a friend of mine who is due any time now! Actually, the baby should have been here exactly one week ago!

I decided to make the card in my "messy" style... lots of layers, distressing, heat embossing and lots of embellishments! I really had a lot of fun making it.

For this card I used a LOTV stamp, which I bought a few years ago, right before my long crafting break and I never had the chance to use.
I decided to use Kraft and pink on my card, which together with blue and pink is one of my favourite colour combinations.

Card Recipe

 6x6 card blank
kraft card
white card stock
papers are mainly scraps from craft magazine freebies over the years
Image coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers
white gel pen
"Cutie" sentiment stamp is from the Paper Smooches Scripty sayings set
Postmark stamp is from The works
New baby sentiment stamp was freebie from magazine a few years ago

Sizzix Doily border die
Tag die cut (inside pocket) from Joy Crafts

scripture stamp (used to emboss the butterflies) from Papermania Urban Stamps
baby footprint stamp from Hobbycraft -  I might add the baby's name and date of birth in here once she's born!

Memento tuxedo black ink
Versamark embossing ink
Distress ink pad in Antique linen
Flowers and lace from Wild orchid crafts

Guest Designer for Little Miss Muffet !

Morning!!!

I hope you are all ok... In here we are already on the Easter Break... Alaia is off school, so I have barely any time for myself!!!
I was supposed to be in Glasgow today... as my husband has a meeting and Alaia and I were going to tag along... But Alaia hasn't been feeling very well for the last few days, and I have also been feeling a bit poorly, so we decided to stay home... Alaia was really upset, as she loves travelling! so I promised her to go to town today in the bus and spend some girlie time together... She is really excited (more than anything due to the bus ride!!! bless her...)

On to today's card.....  Faye from Little Miss Muffet challenge asked me to Guest Design for them this week, and of course I accepted straight away! Thank you so much for having me!!!

The theme this time at Little Miss Muffet is DISTRESSED.
wow! as most of you may know.. it's one of my favourite things to do! leave me with a paper and my Tim Holtz Distressing Tool and inks and I'm the happiest girl in the world!!!

so hop over to Little Miss Muffet challenge, and join in the fun!

And this is my GDT card!

This little cutie is Babe Superstar, from  Little Miss Muffet stamps.

The papers I've used are from Crate Paper Little Boy Blue (the grey paper with little baby objects). the other paper I've had for a while.. sorry I don' know the brand as it came in a small pack, non-branded, but it's also really cute, with small baby footprints all over....

All the card-stock and papers have been distressed with the Tim Holtz Distresser tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Old paper and Antique Linen.
I also hand-stitched the border of all the layers with white thread.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers.
I used:
Buttercup, Mustard, Cornflower, Powder blue, Vanilla, Almond, Blossom, Tulip Yellow, Leaf Green and Cool Grey 1.

I added the "New Baby" sentiment to the star.
I also created the "Congratulations" sentiment on my computer.

As an extra layer, I used a blue doily.
I also used:
"It's a Boy" ribbon from local shop.
Flower from Wild Orchid Crafts
Leaves die cuts using a Marianne Creatables die.

A New baby card with a twist!

Hello! First of all I would like to welcome my new followers, who have decided to come aboard my crazy train!!!! Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy my crafty ride!!! (not sure why I'm talking about trains and rides, but hopefully you get what I'm trying to say!!!!)

can you believe is Wednesday already? time flies at the moment.... really busy, trying to get things done (crafty and non-crafty). I'm not complaining though... I love being busy, between my family life, my crafting, writing the blog (it takes me forever to write these few lines... I don't think I'm really easy with words, but I try!).
We are going away for the weekend, which I'm really looking forward to... We are going to Aberdeen to visit friends. I haven't seen them for a few months and we really need a catch up!  I will still have one of my DT cards ready and scheduled to be published on Sunday though... so you won't miss me so much!!! (you are not getting rid of me so easily!!!).

Today I've got a New Baby card for you, but with a twist! It's not blue, it's not pink.... it's green, and yellow, and orange!!!! confusing? yeah! I just wanted to push myself and use my "difficult" colours (meaning, colours I don't usually use and I find difficult to work with...)
After my CAS card on Monday, I really missed my layers and embellishments, so I went full on with them!!!

Another thing I'm really happy about... I  found this company with amazing digis, full of the cutest fairies ever! and I bought my first (but for sure, not last) digi from them... isn't this baby fairy the cutest? it's called "Ashee" from Emerald Faeries Garden Stamps.

The papers I've used are from: K&company, Crate Paper Little Bo Peep, Raspberry Road Designs "Love Lives Here"  and a bit of scrap.

I hand stitched around the papers, in alternate layers and distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink pad in Old Paper and Antique Linen (for the main image).

I coloured the cute image with my Promarkers.

I used: Peach, soft Peach, mustard, buttercup, ivory, vanilla, almond, blossom, lime zest, leaf green, Cool grey 4,3,2 and 1, honeycombe, coral, sandstone and blender pen.

To decorate the card I used:

La la land hearts banner
Sizzix doily border die
butterfly punch
Pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts
Paper Doily
Button, lace and ribbon are from local shops.
The felt flower and leaves have been in my stash for years, but I think I got them from The Works.

I created the sentiment on my computer using "I love what you do!!" font.

I hope you like my New Baby card with a twist!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges (in alphabetical order)

Guess!!!! another baby card!

Hi!

First of all, I would like to say Hi to all my new (and old) blog-land friends... thank you so much for following me! I hope you enjoy my work and I can inspire you in the same way  I get inspired by all of you!!!

First week back to normality still not going as planned....  Christmas tree is still up (but taking it down today for sure!). I seem to be rolling on auto-pilot at the moment... I want to make so many things, and so little time... I do my crafting mainly at night, once Alaia is in bed. It's when I feel more relaxed, with no distractions, catching up with my TV shows at the same time (mainly just in the background).
I always end up working until really late, chatting with my Crafty friends on facebook and reading lots of blogs for tutorials and inspiration. I try to give myself the night off every few days so I can catch up on some sleep... luckily, Alaia isn't an early-riser, and nursery is in the afternoon, so I don't really need to do early mornings...  lucky me!

On with the card....

Guess! another Baby card!!!

My friend in Spain had a baby before Christmas, so obviously, I made a card!

I used "Spit Happens" by Mo Manning. Mo creates the most amazing images!

The background papers are from Papermania Capsula Collection Spots and Stripes and K&Company and some loose scraps. I don't remember where I got the yellow paper... it's really cute as it has little baby feet on it (it got covered, but it's really great for baby cards). I got it in a pack with a few more papers a long time ago.

To colour the baby, I used my Promarkers.

Sandstone and buttermilk for the hair.
Vanilla, Almond, Satin, Ivory and blender pen for the skin. Blossom for the cheeks.
Cornflower and Powder blue for T-shirt.
Sandstone and Buttermilk for the bunny.
A bit of Warm grey 1 for the nappy.

I cut the image with the Tim Holtz Alterations Torn Page die. I used the other die that comes in the same set for the notebook page die-cut paper.
I inked all the borders with Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad in Tea Dye.

The corrugated cardboard corners are recycled from Alaia's baby toiletries packaging. I still have a bit left, it comes so handy for this type of cards! I painted the cardboard with a bit of white acrylic paint. I think I'm going to get some Gesso soon to create this look... I really like the look it gives! but I will wait at least for a few weeks, I got so many things on the sale (and NOT SALE)  that I need to give my pockets a rest!!!!
If you have any experience with Gesso, please let me know in the comments below. it doesn't come cheap, so I would really like your opinion beforehand....

I also added a piece of lace mesh under the image.

I made the rose and leaves with the English Rose die from Marianne Creatables.

The Ribbon and washi tape are from Dovecraft.

The rhinestones and buttons are from local shops.

New Baby, New Beginnings....

Hi!!!! I'm back!

I've had a few days break from blogging over Christmas, although I've done a bit of crafting here and there... I have a few projects going on that I'm not able to share with you just yet...

I hope you all had a fab Christmas. In here, at the Diaz-Kaleem household we had a very happy little girl, who has become a "mummy" to her baby doll now... she got a lot more things, but the doll is her favourite! I got some great crafty things I can't wait to use now... and of course, the new CD of Olly Murs, I just love him!

Now I'm just waiting for New Year Celebrations... bring on 2014!!!! nothing like the feeling of starting new, with the New Year resolutions and all that! I'm still working on my New Year Resolutions, and this year, I'll make all of them happen!!!! (well, I won't put too much pressure on myself... with achieving just a few I'll be happy!)

Today I got a New Baby card I was asked to make (yes, another one! and more to come soon, so many new babies!!!). I used my Lili of the Valley "Baby Blanket" rubber stamp.

The papers I've used are from First Edition Rose Garden Paper Pad.
I have hand-stitched the borders of all the papers... I should really start using my sewing machine... I bought it years ago, but never managed to do it properly!!!  for the moment, until then, I'll carry on with my hand-stitiching!

As always, I used my Promarkers to colour the baby.

For face: Vanilla, Almond, Ivory and blossom
For clothes: Pink Carnation, blossom, pink mittens and blender pen.
Floor: Lavender
I paper-pieced the blanket with a bit of scrap left from papers.

The Die cuts I've used are: Marianne Creatables corner, Joy Crafts tag and the Sizzix Scallop Circle nesting dies.

The flowers, lace and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
