King of the Remote Control!

Hi!!!
Back today with a MALE card!!!! yeah! you heard it properly.. this is one of the rare occasions I've made a male card... and oh my! I enjoyed it so much! From the fun image, to the more manly colours... I'm going to add making more male card to my crafty resolutions....

This card is for my husband, whose birthday is tomorrow...  I chose this fun image because it represents my husband to a tee... whether it's football or cricket... the TV remote is his! and with Cricket season being all year round... I have no chance!!! lol.

The image  is the "TV remote control funny male" digi by Kenny K stamps.

I added a stitched frame and the sentiment with my computer.

I coloured it with my Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

Scribble and Scrap challenge #16 DT post

Morning!!!
I hope you are all having a great weekend... I have family visiting, so I'm really busy at the moment and I haven't had time to craft or visit any of your blogs... hopefully I will catch up on everything over the next few days...

As every fortnight, we have a new challenge at

As always, the challenge is Anything goes. so go over to the Scribble and Scrap challenge, take a look at the great cards my fellow DTs have made for your inspiration and join us!
There will be a Random drawn winner, who will get a £15 voucher to spend in the Scribble and Scrap shop.
But if the Random drawn winner has used a product from www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk the prize will be a £20 voucher instead of a £15 voucher.
Also each of the Top Three will win a £5 voucher to spend at www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk

And this is my DT card for this challenge!

I made this card for my husband's birthday.

The papers I've used are perfect for this card. They are the "One for the Boys" digital paper set from Scribble and Scrap.
As usual, I couldn't resist a bit of distressing, so I used my Tim Holtz Distresser Tool on all the paper and card stock borders.
I also hand-stitched them with white thread.

For this card, I used a rubber stamp by Lili of the Valley called  "Toot" Toot!". I stamped it with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured it with my Promarkers.
The Promarkers I used are:
Raw Sienna, Sandstone, Almond, Vanilla, Cocoa, Blossom, Peach, Soft Peach, Cornflower, Powder Blue, Tulip Yellow, Cool Grey 5 to 1.

I also distressed the image and the papers with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Old Paper.
The "Birthday Wishes" sentiment is from The Basic Birthday Sentiment Digi set at the Scribble and Scrap shop.
I created the other sentiment on the computer.

I finished the card with a corner punch, a few buttons and a bit of twine.

I would also like to enter the following challenges:

As you like it - favourite style of stitching (faux or real) and why : my favourite style of stitching is real. I hand-stitch most of my cards, I don't used a machine. I like the texture real stitching gives to the cards. It usually takes me ages but it's worth it!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please leave a comment if you like my card and don't forget to follow me if you are not already! :)

Until next time!!!

Sentimental Sundays DT post: challenge #197 - Card for a Boy/Man

Hiya!!! I hope you are having a great weekend! our weekend has been great! our friends from Aberdeen came to spend the weekend with us... we had a great time, looking forward to see them again soon!!!

Today, a new Sentimental Sundays challenge is starting!!!

The theme this week is

Cards for a Boy/Man
(plus a sentiment)

Our sponsor this week is QKR Stampede

So, hop over to Sentimental Sundays challenge #197  , take a look at the great cards my fellow DT's have made for your inspiration, and join us!

This is my boy/man card!  I really struggle with male cards... I find them so difficult to make, as I love my embellishments, and obviously I can't put as many on a male card!

For this card, I used a really fun digi stamp from QKR Stampede, which they kindly donated for me to work with, called "Upset Golfer".

The papers I've used are from:  American Crafts Amy Tangerine Yes, Please and from American Crafts May Berry.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers:

I used: Vanilla and Almond for his skin;
Pink Carnation, Blossom and Pink Mittens for his shirt and
Cool Grey  5 to 1 for the shoes and the golf irons.

I paper-pieced his hat and trousers with a bit of scrap paper from K&Company. I use some green watercolour pencil to make a bit of shading on the paper-piecing.

I created the sentiment on my computer.

Then I just embellished with a few brads, a bit of twine, an spiral paper clip and three kinds of washi tape from the Papermania Capsule Collection Spots & Stripes bright.

Wags and Whiskers #124 - Sports

I really hope you like my inspiration card for  Sentimental Sundays challenge #197 this week!!!

Please leave me some love in the comments if you do, and don't forget to follow! :)

Until next time!

Funny Face Man card....

Hello there!

I hope you are all well and having some time to escape to your craft room (or corner/gap under the stairs... like me!).

Well... I've broken a promise I made to myself last week... after getting a lot of nice crafty goodies from my husband for Christmas, and spending some of my money (a lot!) on the sale... I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any crafty stuff on-line or at my local craft store (I have a craft store 5 minutes walk from home... DANGER!),  at least until the end of the month...
Well, I went out for a coffee with a friend on Monday, next door to the mentioned craft store... and I couldn't resist buying something... Don't get me wrong, I didn't spend a lot of money, it was all in the sale, and it was a bargain!
2 Christmas Papermania Urban Stamps, a Tim Holtz Die! and a roll of washi tape for £6.50???? I had to buy it...  I'm tempted to go back tomorrow while Alaia is in school and go through their sale bin again! oops!

It has been a while that I haven't done a male card... It is our nephew's birthday this week, he'll be 23 and has just started to work and he's getting trained at the same time in a big accountancy firm in Manchester.... so looking for an appropriate image for him, I saw this one by Redonkadoodles called "Funny Face Man", he just looks like our nephew!!!!

The papers I've use are from  "The Pier" by Crate Paper, "Rose Garden" by First Edition and "Snippets Collection" by Studio Calico.

I distressed the card stock with the Tim Holtz paper distresser and inked all the papers with Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad in Old Paper.

I coloured him with  my Promarkers.

For his hair: Black, Cool Grey 4, Cool Grey 3 and Cool Grey 1.
For his skin: Sandstone and Vanilla
For tongue: Pink Carnation, blossom and Pink Mittens.
For shirt: Cornflower and Powder blue.
For trousers: Cool Grey 5, 4 3 and 1.
And finally, for his tie: Pear Green, Lime Zest, Azure, Coral and Dusky Pink.

I created the sentiments on my computer.
Washi tape is from local shop.
Paper clip and eyelet from my stash

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
