Hello again!
I'm back with my second post of the day because it's time for
The theme this week is Sketch
(plus a sentiment)
We are sponsored by Rick St. Dennis Digital Stamps.
So, get on crafting, use this sketch to create a beautiful project and join us in the fun!
We'd like to see how you interpret the sketch. so many ways! just take a look at the Sentimental Sundays challenge, where my fellow DTs have also used it to make some fantastic cards!
Rick St. Dennis Stamps kindly donated an image for me to work with. I chose "Flapper". she's so much fun! I love everything retro-looking, and this 1920's flapper is amazing!
I really wanted the image to stand out, in her red dress, so I decided to used neutral colours for my paper. The background paper is from Crate Paper "The Pier" paper pad, which I place on top of Kraft card.
I hand-stitched around the paper with brown thread. I'm loving the stitching in my cards at the moment. it takes me ages, but love it... and I find it quite relaxing when I stitch....
As a second layer I used Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die cut from Kraft card.
I sprinkled the edges of the card and the Clock with embossing powder in White foam, using Versamark Embossing ink. I love the texture this embossing has given to the card.
In the clock, I also used a few Mica Fragments from Stampendous.
The image has been fussy-cut and placed on top of a postcard stamped image from Urban Stamps.
On the corners of this image, I stamped some leaves with brown ink. this stamp is a freebie from a craft magazine.
I used the Tim Holtz Distress tool in all the papers and Kraft card together with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.
As usual, I coloured the image with my Promarkers.
I used: Poppy, Cool grey 4 and 3, vanilla, almond, blossom, eggnog, buttercup, cornflower and poweder blue.
Black and cool grey 5 to 2 for the hair.
TIP FOR TOP TIP TUESDAY: I only have one shade of red marker at the moment, so, to give a bit of shading when using red, I used a few shades of grey and then I go over with the red again. the shading is really subtle but it works, at least until I can save some money to buy more shades of red!
I put some twine behind the postcard stamp and image.
red rhinestones for some sparkle bling, two kinds of washi tape (both from local shop)
I also used: Tim Holtz Alterations Elegant Flourish die and Tim Holtz Adage "Giggle" ticket as a sentiment. I though this sentiment matches the image really well.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges (in alphabetical order):
As you like it - Favourite 3D texture and why (my favourite 3D texture is flowers. I put flowers in almost all my cards, love them! for me they complete the look of the card. I've also started to make my own flowers -as you can see on this card-)
