Santa Claus is coming to town!!!!!!!

Hi! welcome to my new blog post!!!!

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend... at our home, we are all down with a cold/flu (I never know the difference!). Husband in bed; Alaia is the healthiest of all of us, still dancing around... and I'm just lazing around the house, doing bits and bobs, a bit of card-making, playing with Alaia... but wishing to be in bed all snuggled up!

I'm still trying to finish my Christmas cards... running late as usual!

When I saw this digital stamp featured in the Digital Pencil blog I had to get it!!! It's so darn cute! I love the Big Santa riding that tiny train... genius! You can get it from the Mo's Digital Pencil shop.

Here is the card.....

I used the sketch #85 from Papertake Weekly, by Dawny P.

I rotated the sketch 45 degrees. I hope you like my take on it!!!

I went for traditional colours this time. Red, Green and Gold as a main feature. All the papers I've used are freebies from card-making magazines.

I really enjoyed colouring this image, but this was my second attempt! I coloured it first, and added glitter... I wasn't happy with the outcome! so I ditched it...
I used my Promarkers as usual!
I'm still trying to get colouring reds right, I only have one shadow of red at the moment, so I used the colour Shale for Santa's suit shadows, together with Poppy. For the white fur I used Warm Grey 1 and the blender pen. I like how it turned up.
For the beard I used Icicle.
For the Face: Vanilla, almond, blossom (for the cheeks and the nose!).
For Santa's boots I used Shale, Warm Grey 1 and Icicle together with the blender pen.

For the bell: Tulip Yellow and Mustard plus blender pen.

and finally the train... Apple, China Blue, Powder blue, sandstone, warm grey 1, tulip yellow  and mustard.

To embellish the card I used a red felt heart, and a bit of string to tie the golden jingle bell up.
I added a bit more of gold colour with the golden brads, and I used green and red buttons with mini stars on top of them...
All of the above are from local shops. The red heart I've had forever in my stash...
I also used the Tim Holtz torn notebook die for the spotty paper underneath the image.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles #64 - Inspired by a movie (The Polar Express by Tom Hanks)
