Sentimental Sundays DT post #201 - Vintage / Steampunk

Hi!!! how is the weekend treating you? It's a quiet weekend for us.. yesterday we stayed home, lazing around, we even had a nap! a family nap! My husband had been away almost all the week, so he was extremely tired... Today we've been doing some stuff around... but nothing really exciting... It's good sometimes to be just home and relax I guess.

As every Sunday, we have a new challenge at

The theme this week is

Vintage / Steampunk
(plus a sentiment)

I was really excited with this week's theme... as I've never made a steampunk card... so I was really looking forward to it!

The sponsor this week is Lollyrot Illustration Stamps

So, after you read about my card, hop over to Sentimental Sundays and join us in the fun! Even if you have never tried this genre, it's really exciting to try new themes and techniques!!! the DT and GDTs have made a fantastic job to give you  inspiration for this challenge!

and this is my card...

The paper's I've used are both freebies from magazines. The brown one is full of cogs and script writing...  I love it and thought it would go perfect with this card.

I used black card stock as a base.

All the papers have been distressed with Tim Holtz Distresser Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad in Old paper.

The image is from the sponsor, which they very kindly donated for me to work with. It's called "Agatha" and it can be found here.

I used my Promakers to colour the image. I used:  Turquoise, Duck Egg, Powder Blue, Vanilla, Almond, Blossom, Pink Mittens, Buttercup, Tan, and Blender Pen.

I stamped two of the image corners with Urban Stamps Cogs stamp.

I also used this same stamp for the corner of the card, but this time I used it with Versamark embossing ink and Papermania Embossing powder in Silver.

As an extra layer, I use the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die cut, which I also embossed with Papermania embossing powder  in Silver. I did this a bit on the rough... meaning I didn't want it to come perfect and shiny and wanted to show a bit of the black card stock from the bottom.

I finished it off with:

Lace from local shop.
The Metal Cogs and Vintage Scissors charm are from The Bead shop, in the Afflecks Palace in Manchester.
I also took a washer from my tool box and added it together with the cogs.
The screw brad is from Woodware.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The two types of washi tape are from local shop.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I hope you like my steampunk card!
Please leave me some love, I really enjoy reading your comments...
and don't forget to follow!

Until next time!
