Scribble and Scrap challenge #16 DT post

Morning!!!
I hope you are all having a great weekend... I have family visiting, so I'm really busy at the moment and I haven't had time to craft or visit any of your blogs... hopefully I will catch up on everything over the next few days...

As every fortnight, we have a new challenge at

As always, the challenge is Anything goes. so go over to the Scribble and Scrap challenge, take a look at the great cards my fellow DTs have made for your inspiration and join us!
There will be a Random drawn winner, who will get a £15 voucher to spend in the Scribble and Scrap shop.
But if the Random drawn winner has used a product from www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk the prize will be a £20 voucher instead of a £15 voucher.
Also each of the Top Three will win a £5 voucher to spend at www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk

And this is my DT card for this challenge!

I made this card for my husband's birthday.

The papers I've used are perfect for this card. They are the "One for the Boys" digital paper set from Scribble and Scrap.
As usual, I couldn't resist a bit of distressing, so I used my Tim Holtz Distresser Tool on all the paper and card stock borders.
I also hand-stitched them with white thread.

For this card, I used a rubber stamp by Lili of the Valley called  "Toot" Toot!". I stamped it with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured it with my Promarkers.
The Promarkers I used are:
Raw Sienna, Sandstone, Almond, Vanilla, Cocoa, Blossom, Peach, Soft Peach, Cornflower, Powder Blue, Tulip Yellow, Cool Grey 5 to 1.

I also distressed the image and the papers with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Old Paper.
The "Birthday Wishes" sentiment is from The Basic Birthday Sentiment Digi set at the Scribble and Scrap shop.
I created the other sentiment on the computer.

I finished the card with a corner punch, a few buttons and a bit of twine.

I would also like to enter the following challenges:

As you like it - favourite style of stitching (faux or real) and why : my favourite style of stitching is real. I hand-stitch most of my cards, I don't used a machine. I like the texture real stitching gives to the cards. It usually takes me ages but it's worth it!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please leave a comment if you like my card and don't forget to follow me if you are not already! :)

Until next time!!!

  6. Oooh brilliant! Men's cards can be so difficult but you've made it look easy! Did hubby love it? I really like this stamp, it's good to be reminded what LOTV have, as there are so many. I might have to get this one as I've got a man's 65th card to do and the brief is - he loves cars! I really like the way you've layered up the papers, with the different shapes. Glad you've been having some family time, lots of love, Emma xxx
