Try it on Tuesday GDT spot!!! a very musical card!

Morning!!! Happy Tuesday!

First of all, I want to welcome my new followers! thank you so much for clicking the "follow" button! it means so much to me! Hopefully I will be able to inspire you in some way or another!

Today's post is very special, because I'm the Guest Designer for Try It on Tuesday challenge this fortnight!!! I can't tell you how happy I am to have made a card as a GDT for this amazing challenge!  Thank you so much for having me!

When I was told about the theme this week, I just had to smile! It was perfect for a card I needed to make...(not telling you for who, a bit too early...!!! ). So the theme at Try it Tuesday challenge this week is....
MUSIC!!!
So start making your Music themed cards and join Try it on Tuesday challenge!

This is the card I made:

I used two clear stamps for this card.
The first one is the "Grunge Music" clear stamp from Lili of the Valley, which I stamped with black ink.
The second one is a beautiful floral clear stamp with lots of roses from Fleur boutique stamp collection (it was a freebie in a magazine). I coloured the roses with my Promarkers.

The colours I used are: lilac, lavender, blossom, pink mittens, buttercup, tulip yellow, Lime Zest, Leaf green.

And of course, I put a lot of layers!

The papers are from: Crate Paper DIY shop paper pad (the music sheet paper in the background) and a freebie from a magazine (the cream paper).

I distressed all the edges of the papers with the Tim Holtz Distresser tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad in Tea Dye and Tattered Rose. I bent the corners to give it a bit of a vintage/grunge look.

I also hand-stitched the bottom layer with white thread.

I used a pink doily and a piece of lace mesh as extra layers.

Under the roses image I put a beautiful frame die cut from Marianne Creatables.

The butterflies are punched with the Martha Stewart punch and wet embossed using the LOTV grunge music stamp, using pink embossing powder.

I used a small musical note punch to add some pink notes on top of the music sheet.

The flowers and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I created the sentiment on my computer.
The ribbon attached is from local shop.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I really hope you like my GDT card for Try it on tuesday. Don't forget to check out the challenge!

I really appreciate your comments, they make me so happy! and don't forget to follow!

Until next time!

and this is my DT card this week!

Milk Coffee stamps kindly donated a digital stamp for us to work with and I chose this one called "Soya and Dandelion". isn't she the cutest?

I decided to use bright colours for this card. I'm not usually brave enough to used them, but I'm very happy I did with this card!

The papers I've used are from: American Crafts May Berry Paper pad (the green with white dots paper), Papermania Capsule collection Spots and Stripes pastels (the white and little coloured dots paper). the other two where freebie papers with magazines.

I hand-stitched two of the layers with white thread.

I played with the layers for hours until I was happy with the layout.
I also used a doily as an extra layer.
some of the papers are distressed with inks in pink and green.

As usual, I used my Promarkers to colour the image:

For the hair: Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, buttercup
For the skin: vanilla, almond and blossom
For the dress and leaves: lime zest and Apple
for the flower: Antique pink, pink carnation, blossom, pink mittens and blender pen.
For the wings: powder blue

I used a bit of glitter glue in the wings and dandelion.

The Washi tape is a new one from Papermania Capsule collection pastels. I'm loving washi tape at the moment, and I'm building up my collection pretty quick!

The sentiment is part of Kanban clear stamp set.

I punched the butterflies and cut the leaves with Marianne createables leaves die from white cardstock and used  dark green ink to colour it.

This is the card I've made this fortnight!

I decided to make a card with one of my favourite colour combinations, brown and blue! So I used these beautiful papers, part of the Fabulous Florals 2 digital paper set from Scribble and Scrap and put them on top of kraft card. I used a paper crimper to create the corrugated effect on the blue paper. I love the pattern on these papers so much!!!

This is a close up of the papers:

I hand-stitched all the paper borders with white thread, distressed then with Tim Holtz distresser tool and Tim Holtz distreess ink in Old paper.

The sentiment is also from Scribble and Scrap, it is one of many sentiments you can get with the Basic Birthday Sentiment Digi Set.

For my image, I used a rubber stamp from Lili of the Valley called Fairies - on Tip Toe.

I coloured the image with my Promakers in just blue and brown colours,

I used:
Raw Sienna, Buttercup, Sandstone, Cornflower and Powder Blue.

I used a Doily Sizzix Die cut behind the image.

To embellish I cut some butterflies with  Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, lace, gems and charm from local shops, pearls and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz GDT post: Boys and their toys challenge!

Good Morning!!!! I hope you are all well, enjoying this bit of spring weather we are having over the last few days!!!

I can't believe my last post was last Sunday!!! I have been making a few cards here and there that I can't show yet, but decided to take it a bit easy, as lately I've been a bit stressed, and this is supposed to be a hobby at the end of the day!!!

Anyway.. It's Friday! which means it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz Challenge! As I announced last week, I'm their GDT for March, really excited! this is my second week.

This week's theme is   Boys and their toys hosted by Nick

The sponsor  this week is Digi Stamps 4 Joy

Digistamps4Joy SHOP

South African crafters are new to the digital stamping world, with the first South African online digital image store launched in 2010 – Digistamps4Joy (or DS4J)http://www.digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/. In May 2012, Margy Kieser took over ownership of DS4J, and there are now two South African artists who contribute to the more than 500 images available. Margy has taken the store to new heights and the store now stocks digis that are cute, whimsical, artistic, sometimes serious, and sometimes humorous. In addition, one of our own South African rubber stamp companies granted us permission for one range of rubber stamps to be converted into digistamp images. The store has PAYPAL, PAYFAST (South African) and EFT (South African) facilities. Digistamps4Joy offers a monthly freebie on the first Friday of every month, and holds regular bi-weekly card challenges that draw entries from many international card makers.
PRIZE  5 DIGI IMAGES OF WINNERS CHOICE

So, right after you read about my card, hop on to the Crafty Catz Challenge and join us this week! The DT has got great cards for your inspiration in there!

This is my card. Digi Stamps 4 Joy gave us a few images to play with, and I chose this one, called "Big Foot".

So here I am with another boy card!!!! still struggling! it takes me forever to plan the card, trying to find some (if any!) embellishments!
On this card, I just played with the layers, using only two Screw looking brads from Woodware Crafts  to embellish.

The papers I've used are from American Crafts Amy Tangerine Yes Please Paper Pad (the brown/cream paper; I chose it as it look like dirt and soil, which I though goes really good with the monster truck theme)  and from Front Porch Paper Pad by Pebbles (the green stripes paper)

I hand-stitched the bottom layer with light green thread. some of the edges are distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.

Under the sentiment, I put another layer that I created with green ink and a stamp from Papermania Urban Stamps.

I created the sentiment on my computer.

I used my Promarkers to colour the image.

I used: Frosted Leaf for the green truck,
tulip yellow, cool grey 5 to 2, and Sandstone.

I'd also like to enter this car into the following challenges:

I hope you like my card for my GDT spot at Crafty Catz!

If you do, please leave me some love in the comment. and don't forget to follow me if you aren't already... :)

Until very soon!!!

Sentimental Sundays DT post: challenge #197 - Card for a Boy/Man

Hiya!!! I hope you are having a great weekend! our weekend has been great! our friends from Aberdeen came to spend the weekend with us... we had a great time, looking forward to see them again soon!!!

Today, a new Sentimental Sundays challenge is starting!!!

The theme this week is

Cards for a Boy/Man
(plus a sentiment)

Our sponsor this week is QKR Stampede

So, hop over to Sentimental Sundays challenge #197  , take a look at the great cards my fellow DT's have made for your inspiration, and join us!

This is my boy/man card!  I really struggle with male cards... I find them so difficult to make, as I love my embellishments, and obviously I can't put as many on a male card!

For this card, I used a really fun digi stamp from QKR Stampede, which they kindly donated for me to work with, called "Upset Golfer".

The papers I've used are from:  American Crafts Amy Tangerine Yes, Please and from American Crafts May Berry.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers:

I used: Vanilla and Almond for his skin;
Pink Carnation, Blossom and Pink Mittens for his shirt and
Cool Grey  5 to 1 for the shoes and the golf irons.

I paper-pieced his hat and trousers with a bit of scrap paper from K&Company. I use some green watercolour pencil to make a bit of shading on the paper-piecing.

I created the sentiment on my computer.

Then I just embellished with a few brads, a bit of twine, an spiral paper clip and three kinds of washi tape from the Papermania Capsule Collection Spots & Stripes bright.

Wags and Whiskers #124 - Sports

I really hope you like my inspiration card for  Sentimental Sundays challenge #197 this week!!!

Please leave me some love in the comments if you do, and don't forget to follow! :)

Until next time!
